Why is a purpose-built commercial van so important?

If you are in the dog walking or grooming business, then the chances are you have invested in a van or purpose-built, fully equipped vehicle.

Being properly separated from the odours of damp and soggy dogs in the back of the van will certainly make your life a little more comfortable. The dog walking vans we source have bulkheads to ensure that your driving space remains fresh. Equally dog grooming vans need plenty of room for all the equipment to ensure you can offer a great service for those pampered pooches.

On warmer days, vans also provide more comfort for the dogs in the back. It can minimise the amount of sun that glares through the glass. We also have fans available on the models we supply, so that when you make a short doggy drop-off after a walk, the remaining passengers can stay cool in the van.

Dog walking vans also give you more space for the dogs you are taking out, as well as the extra room for any additional equipment you are taking on the walk. Purpose-built vans are also important in creating a more professional image for your business.

At SVH we understand that in business reputation goes a long way, which is why we always provide vehicles that are up to scratch so that even when your van is off the road, your business isn’t compromised.

Equipment to keep in a dog walking van

We understand the value of time to a business and that you should be focused on making a living rather than setting up a vehicle, which is why our dog walking vehicles come set-up and ready to use.

When regularly transporting dogs for a walk, a cage is must and should be secured so as to not move around in the vehicle. At SVH we take care of this for you so you can crack on with work and walk.

Other useful equipment that you should keep in a dog walking van includes:

  • Spare lead. A back-up lead or two is essential in case you ever forget one, or if the lead you are using breaks.
  • Water. On those warm summer days, dogs can easily get too hot, so several bottles of cooling water should always be available. Ideally, these should be kept in an insulated cooler bag to keep them as refreshing as possible.
  • Towels/Blankets. As well as the obvious use of being able to dry the dogs off, the smell of a blanket can reassure an animal during travel.

Likewise, if you don’t have access to your own pet-friendly vehicle, perhaps it is off the road, then we will be happy to step in so you can continue as normal with a similar setup car or van.
